Stop being a vampire – in style

Posted on 31 October 2009 by Rebecca

In an effort to help people reduce their energy use and their appliances from being energy vampires, industrial designer Yong-jin Kim has come up with an ingenious new product.

“Power Socket SWITCH” allows easy power control by twisting the plug 45 degrees to the side instead of pulling out cables from the outlets.

It really is beautifully designed, and appears to be safe around the home since there is no way for small fingers to access the electrical points, but we wonder is it really easier than pulling out the plugs?
I would like to say that it is easier to pull the plug out but we often fall short on doing it as militantly as we should, so maybe this product has some merit in tomorrows more environmentally-minded market?

Do you unplug everything in your home that’s not in use? Do you think something like this Power Socket Switch would help you eliminate vampire energy?
