Wendy,
I found this article on Bee keeping to be rich in detail yet easy to understand as well as entertaining and informative.
I have an online magazine for baby boomers called Groovy Grandmas www.groovygrandmas.com.au We have a section in our magazine called Green Grandmas where we publish articles relating to environmental issues, self-sustainability, and gardening.
I would love to reproduce this article and all its links on my website and am asking permission to do so. Particularly if you yourself might be a baby boomer and/or a Groovy Grandma. Please let me know if this will be possible.
cheers Bryony

PS. I just saw a fabulous episode of David Suzuki's 'The Nature of Things' in which he examines the whole idea of transporting truckloads of bees to orchards to pollinate fruit crops and how it stresses the bees. He looked closely at bee behaviour, the threats and also how important bees are to ecology. Again, monoculture is a major 'no-no'. It seems that Permaculture is the only modern farming tool that could save us. You can read about it at:
