That is fantastic Wendy! Good to see that sometimes all it takes is a little initiative and people can learn from your good example!

I wish shopping centers in Victoria (yes I am talking about Doncaster Shopping Town and Chadstone!) offered both paper/glass/rubbish bins. The 3 options that people can put their rubbish in and feel good about it!

Doncaster is a new shopping center and you would think while doing design and layout of the store that the rubbish bins were brought up. I wonder why they never chose this option? Due to this reason that they don't offer recycling options, I refuse to buy drinks or food when I go there. I take my own sigg bottle with water in and make sure I eat before I go, or I use places that reusable cutlery and plates.

I've now been cleaning up our little corner for a month and am pleased to report that not only is it staying clean (with a huge reduction in litter) but some neighbours are joining the campaign. We are sorting and recycling all the plastic bottles, glass, aluminium and tins and dumping the rest (mostly polystyrene coffee cups). A local metalworker has promised to make me some wire bins (one for rubbish and one for recycling). Progress report in a month!
