The environmental toothbrush

Posted on 18 January 2010 by Rebecca

Did you know that in Australia, over 30 million toothbrushes are used and disposed of by Australians each year, amounting to approximately 1000 tonnes of landfill each year.

This is where the Environmental toothbrush steps in – this toothbrush is made from renewable bamboo and the bristles from a polymer derived from renewable plant feedstock – so basically when you need to replace your toothbrush you can just toss the old one into the compost!

You can purchase a 1 year supply (12 brushes) for $33 AUD, which works out to be $2.75 AUD per brush! This isn’t a bad price considering some brands can be up to $5 a brush!

I haven’t yet tried them out but will be ordering some shortly – you can purchase online at The Environmental Toothbrush or if you live in Queensland from Flannerys. Otherwise email your local shops and ask them to stock them for you!
