I am sure everyone is well aware and well versed about the horrible spill in the Gulf of Mexico. But did you realise that part of the “plan” directs BP media spokespeople to never make “promises that property, ecology, or anything else will be restored to normal?
Check out Grist for a full list of the 7 dumb things that BP has in their Spill Response Plan.

It is just laughable and unbelievable surreal for a company of that magnitude to have made this kind of mistake!
The “plan” included no measures for preventing disease (viruses and bacteria) transmission to captured animals in rehab facilities. This was found to be a major risk after the Exxon Valdez spill, according to Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER), which analyzed the response plan and culled these absurd lapses in common sense.
Fingers crossed things can be fixed but all know that this is just a mess and it will never return to the way it was before.
Thanks Grist for the list!

I’m just sick to my stomach by this tragedy. Where can I find an realistic assessment of the accurate size of the oil released? The assessments are all over the place. Thanks for your good post.
It seems like there is finally some good news with the spill. The Houston Chronicle reports, U.S. ships were being outfitted earlier this month with four pairs of skimming booms airlifted from the Netherlands and should be deployed within days.” I hope this is a sign of things to come. For all those feeling pretty gloomy about this situation, I recommend a good laugh… Here’s a funny joke, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dd0svVWfFbo
