Our very first Electric Car Station

Sydney has become the first city in Australia to get a public on-street electric car charging station. This is just brilliant news and hopefully it will not be the last one in our country.Initially this first charging station will provide data and customer analysis and will allow people with a plug-in hybrid Toyota Prius to recharge in three hours.

There will be more charging stations opening within Australian cities such as Melbourne and Adelaide over the coming months.

So what do you think about this? Do you think you will take up the option to sell your car and then purchase a new hybrid car to allow for electric charging?

In my honest opinion, and I can only speak for my own financial situation but I would love to have a hybrid car but due to current car costs, this dream is far off for me! Until I can afford a better car, I opt to use my car less, use the bus more and more importantly use my legs more! I love driving, I really do – but I love walking more. The bus is a means to an end but I love just going out for a walk or walking to the shops and then justifying to myself that I can have some sweet food!

What about your? Is this still a far away dream to own a hybrid or are you one of the lucky early adopters?
