Saturday 31, 2012 at 8:30pm is Earth Hour.

This year I have been lucky enough to do a write up about Earth Hour for World Wildlife Foundation with my take on Earth Hour and what we can all do: New Years Eve for the Environment

Just to recap, there are so many little things we can do every day that make changes to how we live on our planet. This is not just some hippy, greenie talk – this is very real.

I am not going to go into a debate about climate change but tell you that with our wasteful lifestyles and attitudes we are the ones who are hurting our planet, and our small changes such as stop using single use disposable bags will make a huge difference to the amount of waste we create. Other simple things such as always recycle what we can and tell manufacturers who create our products to do better and make them with less waste, with recyclable parts and to be just better for us all.

*sigh* Enough with the rant, as well all get sick of someone going off on a topic they are passionate about, but let’s talk about Earth Hour.

It is one hour.. just ONE hour. Take some time to turn off your TV, laptop and lights (maybe even your phone too!). Sit quietly and relax or go crazy and have a singalong with your family, just remember that our little actions do make changes, no matter how small they may seem.
