Replace your costly cosmetics with home made ones!

Are you noticing you spend a little too much on cleansers, moisturisers, toners, scrubs, foot scrubs, mid week mask treatments etc etc? Are you also now more aware of what the heck is even in the products you buy? Well, I sure am!I have been raised into the belief that I need a skincare regime. That it is so critical and important to myself, as a woman,  that I have to call it a “regime”! Ludicrous, right!

I started thinking more and more about what I was actually doing and all it is is just washing my face! Soooooo simple. So why did I have such a monotonous regime that I felt I needed to follow! You can easily blame the beauty and advertising industry for that – but no more!

It really is time for me to try a more natural and cheaper way to keep my skin nice!

So I am trying to replace my bought products with home made versions – and with most of these recipes they should include some items you already have in your home!

Before starting just a word of caution, if you are unsure how your skin will react, please test a small patch of skin on your elbow before continuing. Find out what works with your skin as everyone is different!

HOME MADE CLEANSERS

The honey is has antibacterial properties and also soothing to you skin, while the baking soda slightly exfoliates your skin.

1 cup of plain yoghurt (well any yoghurt will do!)

EGG FLIPPED FACE MASK

1-2 tablespoons of plain yoghurt

Method:
Separate the egg white from the yolks and place in a bowl. Add to the bowl the yoghurt and mix together. Apply this to your face and leave it on your face for 5 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and a warm washcloth.

HEAVENLY HEALING FACE MASK

This is a great mask for acne or rash treatment.
Depending on the coverage you need, use 1-3 aspirins. Crush them into small pieces and place into a small bowl. Stir in a few drop of water to make the aspirin into a paste. Add honey/olive oil and stir the mixture well. Apply to your face or use as a spot treatment and allow it to dry. Wash off after around 10 minutes with warm water.
